Is it the law of supply, and demand, OH look we have not sold much of this stuff let's jack the price up, and F### the customer! :evil:

Do the main stealers not sell so much, because their techs don't book it out on the jobs, and there is not much demand at the front parts counter from others. :evil:

Hi Ken!

No, I accuired it locally to me.. it came from Scotland, before I got it!

It needed BOTH front and rear height controller units freeing up, AND a Front anti roll bar clamp! I am just being cautious and feel as its a working box, an oil change would help it along...

It's apparantly some pretty special synthetic stuff as the AL4 and 4HP20 are "sealed for life" and need only topping up (officially).

It's supposed to last the life of the car and it does last the life of the gearbox, which usually, unless you do regular partial changes, is a lot less than the potential life of the car :twisted: :twisted:

Supply and demand may not be significant as it's used in a vast number of modern autoboxes and Esso must sell millions of gallons of the stuff.

It's the magic ingredients that cost the money; eye of newt is pretty pricey at the moment...

You must be getting reamed on it; the stuff's cheaper here. Hit up your Esso bulk suppliers (not the PSA agents) for a 5 gallon drum and share around. Basically, the fluid has high temperature tolerances. There are some up-spec fluids that probably are equal enough in characteristics; people here sometimes use Transmax-Z.

Loking more to the future - how feasible would online Lexification be? :shock: I mean, if keen beans were able to configure some sort of connector from their diagnostic socket, to the USB port?
