deal to comply with the rules at the time. In order to transfer a number you had to have owned the donor car for at least 6 months before you could transfer the number. So I purchased his Jaguar Mk10 for 1p, transferred the number and sold it back to him a fortnight later for £50.01. Sadly for me I only got the logbook and keys while the Jag remained locked in his garage for that time!

Yes it was, and there is a story attached to it. For the unknowing it was a Reliant Mk6 sidevalve Reg number 205 PL. My Dad's nextdoor neighbour saw the car outside and asked me if he could buy the plate. We settled on £50 but it involved an amusing

I had a 1962 Regal in the about 66. In 1968 the brakes failed and I finished up in a dike, car scrap & I lost a few front teeth. Bought a 1961 Anglia and took my test. In those days the 3-wheelers weren’t a joke they became later, they were a cheap way to get a car and you only needed a motorcycle licence.

Crap phonephoto's. This was fluttering near me, hidden by the curtains, then appeared, frantically trying to get through the glass.
I was out for a few hours yesterday and left the windows open and it must have sneaked in then. There's a ladybird somewhere too.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Not really a POTD as I took this a good month ago... More like Picture of the Month...
The delay was due to needing to finish the film before processing it...
Taken indoors, under low light and no flash. Film was Ilford HP5 pushed two stops. Lens was my 50mm f1.8 prime set wide-open - hence the bokeh

There's a good motive for a view camera. Process each sheet of film as you expose it. Also, 4 x 5" contact sheet, no need for an enlargerThe delay was due to needing to finish the film before processing it...

C41 is a doddle. I didn't use it for ages though, all my colour was on Ektachrome and processed with E4.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Speaking which... Here's a bit of a C41 negative processed over 35 years ago. Shows they keep well...
And this one was not well stored either...
This was my dad's Fiesta taken when almost brand-new in 1989...
Shows how well the old analogue stuff preserves history and can still be good, even under less than ideal storage conditions... I'd like to see a 35 year floppy disk or CD-RW chucked into the corner of an attic still be good after all those years... Even if the data might be recoverable, good luck on finding a device to read it... I'd be doubtful if in 35 years time SD cards will be reliably readable... We already now SSDs loose their data unless regularly refreshed..
This is why film (and by extension, LP records, tape cassettes and other analogue recording media) will never die...

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
All I need to start processing colour negative film is on order... Watch this space for further developments
Meanwhile, I found this
My old original MG Metro taken in Cyprus in 1983...
I suspect this was taken more for the cat than the car...
Scanned from a print - I no longer have the negatives from along that time...
