Re: Guide to Replacing the NG4 Navidrive 3D Hard Drive with a CF Card
Hi Marc
Please could you send me a link to the N42c Firmware, Ive got it on cd but it looks like it may have got damaged.
I am doing the upgrade to Compact flash but are getting the 0x3019 error.
i have just formatted the card but want to rule out the cd as the error.

At least one other had this issue - had to ensure that the CF card was jumpered to SLAVE not MASTER. Also try formatting the CF card as FAT32 and just allow the firmware to create the partitions for you from scratch.

It's not so much about the car it's more to do with how you are at IT.Dave63 wrote: 12 Sep 2020, 12:53 Hi do you know of anybody in U.K. who can do this as I’m useless with cars
What are your issues - are you having any with the NG4 now or are you just looking to preserve the Hard Disk and replace it with a CF card?

Re: Guide to Replacing the NG4 Navidrive 3D Hard Drive with a CF Card
Was this after a mapping software update or a system firmware update?
To find your firmware and map version, you just need to hold down the SETUP button with a long press until you get the extended menu. You should be able to scroll down to get the software and map versions. Take a picture and upload it if it is easier (use the Full Post editor / Preview option at the bottom of the post screen). In the extended post editor, you can click the attachments button and upload your pics from your PC or phone if using the phone to access the Forum.

Ok, just pop up either pics of the Firmware and mapping versions if you can at some point and I can see what the best thing to do is.

Looks like the unit is not even sorting out the partitions on the CF card.
I have formatted to fat32 and tested the adaptor in a pc and it works fine.
The adaptor is set to slave.
Could this be the build issue my car is an early 2012 when it was registered so it will probably have been built sometime in 2011.
Going to give the procedure earlier in the thread a try unpairing Bluetooth and USB and disconnect unit.

Once you have the photos, use the 'Full Editor & Preview' button below next to the 'Submit' button.Dave63 wrote: 12 Sep 2020, 16:21 Hi Marc how to send a pic on forum or can I send to your email thanks david
Underneath the post editing window, you will see 2 tabs; 'Options' and 'Attachments'.
Select 'Attachments' and then press the 'Add Files' button.
Then select the source where you have your photos stored (on your phone photo library, or your PC where you saved them to) and these will then be uploaded.
Next, just put the cursor in the post window where you want the photo to go and then press the 'Place Inline' button by the attachment to place the photo code.
When previewing or submitting your post, the photo will be displayed.

Re: Guide to Replacing the NG4 Navidrive 3D Hard Drive with a CF Card
If you have installed a blank CF card and have the firmware on the USB, put everything back (PS always make sure you unplug the quad lock first and plug it back in last) and powered up the car it should start to read the USB and start installing - but it can take an hour and not show anything for a bit - so don't expect it to be a quick operation.mrhardware wrote: 12 Sep 2020, 17:41 Looks like the unit is not even sorting out the partitions on the CF card.

The units are the same, regardless of build date.
Obviously I can't see what is going on being on a Forum, so it's hard to tell what is or is not happening from your description.
Does the NG4 boot up?
What does the display say when you start the car with the USB in?
If the NG4 is booting, go into the system menu and do a system reset and then make sure you have the USB stick attached. It will do a complete restart.
