Re: Citrojim's V6 Conversion
I hope to have mine converted by next May David so that it can appear as a V6 in the 2016 rally season..

Re: Citrojim's V6 Conversion
I definitely understand that, Jim! Between starting to buy the parts and getting the work done it took me about 2 years to finally pluck up the courage! And in the end BL Auto's did all the hard graft for me!CitroJim wrote:I'm not rushing my conversion...
I did all the prep work on the engine (timing belt, sump gasket and cambox seals), gearbox was rebuilt, I changed the brakes over to the V6 ones, and did the brake flex's etc. It doesn't sound like much on paper but it was many evenings spent in the workshop just pottering away. I wanted it all done slowly and properly so I could enjoy doing it rather then having a deadline and having to rush it.
David.

Re: Citrojim's V6 Conversion
Absolutely David and that's what it's all about for me. Something to be enjoyed..
I shall be documenting it, both on here and on a new website I've just acquired the domain for...
http://www.activav6.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The site is up at the moment but is only displaying a holding page until I put something up on it..
It's being hosted on the forum backup server at the moment and is acting as part of the testing of the backup system for the forum...
As soon as I can I'll get something useful up on it...

I'll be taking a lot and documenting both here and in the blog I've set up especially for the purpose at http://www.activav6.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I suppose that's as near to a book as it'll come!

With your attention to detail it is more likely to be a set of encyclopaedias!CitroJim wrote:I'll be taking a lot and documenting both here and in the blog I've set up especially for the purpose at http://www.activav6.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Citrojim's V6 Conversion
That's really nicely done. The issue with doing that on a Xantia V6 is the space - the nearside is take up by the battery, fusebox and LHM tank and gubbins. I think they hydraulic pump would create space issues on the offside. Battery could be relocated to the boot but the rest?..
