Flapjacks :D The answer to every question and universal fixer of everything. Life always looks better after eating a decent home-made flapjack ;)

It's why I always have a tin of them available. They're like a first aid kit...

Well done on the work Holm!

Bake me some flapjack please Jim. Now I have a leaking fuel tank by the looks of things. Going to have a proper inspection at the weekend to confirm my suspicion.

Sounds like I need to prepare a batch of emergency flapjacks!!!

Holm, a leaky fuel tank is very unusual unless it's taken a hit from something as it's made of plastic...

I expect you'll find it's perished piping to the fuel filter or even the fuel filter...

I'm thinking maybe the filler pipe possibly as it only seems to leak when I fill it up more than £40. Then only when filling her up not when stood.

Green fluid now leaking from guess where now. The pump itself. Have thought of pinching it off the silver one but would need to get one to put back on that one. So need to know will any pump fit off any xantia or would it be a specific one for the Activa.

Are you sure the pump wants replacing or just new O rings, two minute job.
If its shot then any 6X2 Xant pump will do.

Whereabouts is it leaking from?

You may need to give it a good clean first..

One favourite place now is the suction (inlet) pipe. It cracks under the clip and the split can be almost invisible but it will leak, especially when the engine is stopped... When the engine is running and there's a good suction in effect it does not leak which can be confusing!

Otherwise, as Dean says, it'll just be the usual seals...

Yep.....sort the leak before it stuffs your Alternator as well, which it will very soon.

Others better qualified on pumps will tell you how.

And alternators on a TCT are not the easiest in the world to swap...

Firstly, give the pump a really good clean and then it'll be easier to see from where it is leaking..

yep, de-grease it and get it gleaming like a pin, you will never see where its coming from with all that crud everywhere, air flow in the engine bay can make the leak look like its coming from anywhere.
