Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
Just spotted this at the local fish and chips shop.
Actually i remember this one parked in my dads driveway some time in the 1980s. The then owner (and still current? ) was something of an eccentric, it being his only car.

Interesting old car, nice mod on the tele shocks.
It's been a very long time since I used to fill up the petrol tank on one of those, always thought that having the tank over your knees was a bit dodgy but easy to fill.

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
Snapdragon yellow Stag just burbled past our place - and then vanished to the east along Portway. I can tell that because the noise from when it hit the dual carriageway tells me quite clearly that it has either a straight through or very nearly straight through exhaust.
Even from a 1/4 mile or so away sounded gorgeous...

Not all British Racing Greens on Jags were the same shade according to this

Today's spot shamelessly tagging on is a Kawasaki KH250. Not bang on topic being a bike , but a bit of nostalgia nonetheless.
..and its quirky feature....its triple exhaust

Haven't seen one for years..

It was a Kawasaki thing Neil. I ran Suzuki triples for years and those used to send the centre cylinder into two small exhausts, one each side under the outer cylinder exhaust, to maintain symmetry..
Two-stroke triples are gorgeous... Once ridden you never want to ride anything powered by anything else...

You see easily as many there as in the UK, possibly more pro rata, for roast dinner fans take away roast dinner shops are also very common in NZ, can't say I've ever seen one of those in the UK.
Staying with the classic vehicle theme, something you see a reasonable amount of in NZ are "House Trucks" which are basically beaten up old trucks with what looks like a home built shed on the back, funnily enough my mate who lives in Auckland had one park up in the car park outside his fish and chip shop for a week when I was there last year.

Thumbs up for the take away roast dinner shops!
and the House Trucks................well quite a gallery on a google search....
I could be wrong but I don't think Suzuki did a triple down to a 250, so maybe a unique attribute of that particular Kawasaki bike?CitroJim wrote: It was a Kawasaki thing Neil. PS...If you want to stay in a House truck roughly £70/night and you could stay here at Punakaiki.

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
Sounds like New Zealand is more British than the UK!!!
I like the idea of a roast dinner take-away!
Can't recall seeing them in Aus though, not in Darwin at any rate...
No, their 250 was a twin. Their smallest triple was the 380cc GT380... It formed a family of three, the 380, the 550 and the 750 'Kettle'.
