Spotted Xantias! (and other French stuff)

Look at a Ford Anglia, an original MK1 Mini or an 1100 and they look positively dinky these days. Almost as if they have shrunk!

House garages are still designed around the size of a Ford Anglia which is why modern cars don't fit them...

The taxi firms here are now using focus and astra, with one a fiesta! The focus and astra are bigger than the accepted Sierra and cavalier from the 80's and 90's. The new fiesta probably have more room than a Sierra or cortina.

The XM is another good one, that car used to be huge it now looks tiny compared to almost everything, i saw a Sierra the other day and it looked like it had shrunk, certainly not as big as the larger Ford i remember.

Red W reg Xantia heading down the 556 yesterday early afternoon, then theres a 504 pickup at a garage local to me!

Saw 2 Xantias between Essen & Antwerp on Sunday & after I'd joined the autoroute there, another 2, including one towing a horsebox at a respectable 65 or so.

Black V or W plate (can't remember!) Xantia spotted in the Bletchly Ikea car park a couple of days ago. Think I might have seen that one there before. Interesting that it was a 2.0 petrol! Think I can count on one hand the number of petrol Xantias I've seen (Activas and V6s excepted of course) with fingers to spare.

Which would follow that any petrol Xantia that survives into old age is going to be rare, if not necessarily desirable.

Spotted my first 'old' Citroen in ages around here. There's plenty of the DS3 around, driven by young uns on finance, but no old stuff.

W plate silver Xantia saloon which I've not seen before. The silver estate and the red saloon I haven't seen in ages.

I also saw a plum and custard 2CV on the way there, but travelling at speed ( me that is not the 2cv ), I couldn't get a photo.
