Your leaning to the right in that photo Jim, was he blocking the sun from your eyes?

Just a picture to cheer up those of you who may be about to suffer the work of Bert. Luckily it seems that this is one weekend where living in Hertford could be a major advantage!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Not one of mine, but a friend sent me this. Taken late one chilly afternoon last week.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
One of our local miniature railways could not run services on Sunday due to leaves on the line - still attached to the tree!
Speaking of sopping wet, after our river being abnormally low last week it's now abnormally high...
Our town is flooded again... It delayed the bin men yesterday - the lorry could not negotiate three inch deep water allegedly
Or there was an H and S issue maybe, a risk of a bin man drowning in the floodwater...
They've been collected this morning...

A most ethereal sunrise over a cold Bury Field this morning
Most of the common was hidden in a thick blanket of freezing fog, making running navigation a bit 'interesting'...
I know the common so well I could find my way via the numerous wet bits, knowing exactly where they always are!
And a first for me today. My shoelaces froze solid during the run!

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Excellent photography courtesy of the Nikon Coolpix. Not.
They are actually better than expected as all that was on the screen was porridge, appeared to refuse to focus but has, after a fashion.
It was admittedly getting dark but I used that in preference to the phone as that does as it likes.
I spotted these two coming up the street with what looked like a large rat, on closer inspection more like a large ferret or perhaps a polecat (second one this year if it was).
It is the blurr near her feet in the second picture.
Should have used the Olympus but it was in another part of the house.

A sunset with Pompey and the Isle of Wight in the far distance. Whilst standing there admiring the view, one of the Goodwood Spitfires flew overhead....... and it was rather lovely to hear and see
