Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
Following on from that last sale, here is a new one with a pretty wide range to choose from, so wide in fact that I haven't made my mind up yet. I'm down to three but I'll keep mulling and post my choice later!!

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
I've spent a while making my choice. I have always been a fan of pop up headlights and there are a few to choose from in this sale. However I don't like Porsches at all and the Corvette, TVR and Pontiac are all far to uneconomic to live with so I picked this because it has pop up lights and an XR2 interior which I've always found very well designed for the type of car it lived in. So my choice would be:

That took all of 2 nanoseconds for me to make my choice
It'll not surprise anybody I'm sure... The car I most regret ever selling
The 1.6 205 GTi
I won't be bidding though - not with a brace of much-loved AXs in my collection and no room for any more... I've learned my lesson about letting treasured cars go after stupidly selling an MG Metro Turbo, 205 GTi and an Activa in the past.

I'd nearly go for the 1977 Lancia Beta Monte Carlo, but I'll have to settle for the 1972 Detomaso Pantera 'cos they're a bit special

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
This sale might cause a bit more heart straining against brain issues for a few others. It has for me and so, as this is the sale which Jim and I are going to view next week, I am going to postpone my decision until I've seen them in real life!! However I will say that there are at least 5 which I'd like, so the choice won't be an easy one!!

A tough call between the '68 Apline and the '72 TR6... but I think the TR6 just gets it for me

OK, slight problem. There are numerous cars I would like, and I cannot choose which ONE I would have. I rolled a twenty sided dice to allow luck to choose for me, and the damned thing is still spinning 30 minutes later!

Re: If you could have any one , which would you pick?
I feel your pain James. So often I see just one that stands out head and shoulders above all else. For this one, although my ultimate choice was easy, there were a fair number I'd be very happy to have...Hell Razor5543 wrote: 25 Mar 2025, 17:04 OK, slight problem. WOW, what a selection!!! I'm thinking Lagonda or Carlton as we had one and really enjoyed the ride as a child. But I'll go for the Aston Martin Lagonda as it's that ugly it must be rare.

It's worth a very quick read of this appraisal of the different dashboards available for the Lagonda. They came in three flavours - mad, unreliable, and 'the future'
