And mine are very very short in the Leg with a stupid Logo on the back

At 6ft.4in in White overalls with short legs I would certainly give Malcolm a good laugh, he would roll off his cloud !..

I so wish I had thought of this idea a week or two ago. What about a CX Estate 2 as the hearse? It would be big enough, and a fitting mode of travel to his resting place (provided it behaved, that is!).

And me in my karate gi would have him proper giggling

James, yes, a CX would have been lovely but he's having a good show of Citroens for his send-off including two Activas, one a V6 too and that should make the old boy pretty happy...

Just checked my Activa over ready for its trip tomorrow. I don't know if this is an appropriate comment but I'm quite looking forward to it. I've been to three 'Celebrations of Life' in the past and they were really quite moving in a good way. I'm glad the dress code has been stated as once I went to one in full mourning gear and then discovered the subject of the celebration had specifically requested everyone to dress in bright, happy clothes and not the formal stuff. I was rather conspicuous...

The music caused a few comments from some of the older attendees; Monty Python's Always look of the bright side of Life...

For the rest of us, we just burst into laughter... That too caused a few twitters from the elderly ones...

What time is the celebration at the church likely to go on to? I live just down the road in Bexhill, but work in Maidstone & couldn't get the afternoon off so I won't be back until getting on for 5 o'clock.

I'm here... currently enjoying the seaside. Will be at Bodium for 1. Can anyone confirm it's Hastings Cemetry, the Ridge and that cemetry and crematorium are one and the same?

And that's where to be at 2 this afternoon...

Sadly i too cannot attend although i'm sure that Malcolm will get the send off that he deserves. It's nearly the hour and i'm left musing at what his final posting migjht have been. Something to make me laugh no doubt ...ooh err!!

I've just returned from the funeral..

It was an incredibly moving service and a fantastic celebration of Malcolm's life. It was truly wonderful.

I will scan and post up the Order of Service from the funeral as soon as I can. The choice of music and readings were so perfect and the eulogy was brilliantly composed and read.

All in all, a truly memorable day and a perfect send-off. It's said Malcolm went to Heaven bemoaning the quality of the suspension in the Merc Hearse but at least he could see out of the rear window a great following of classic Citroens including 2CV's, a GS, a DS, a few Xantias, a couple of BXs and a few C5s.

Excellent!

I'm off to bed now, it's been a very long and emotional day.

It's ok, it is only the front half that is Citroen, the back is Peugeot, so i guess as you were behind us in the procession...... you could be forgiven for not noticing!!

It was a very moving day. I feel honoured to have know him. Thanks Claire and family for allowing us to pay our respects.

I'll think of his PERCYWATSITS every time I'm struggling with a task.
