One I took early this morning during my very soggy run in the pouring rain. I found some great puddles to splash through :-D

It's one of the entrances to Bury Field Common. I really liked the lighting and the glow cast on the wall and other objects by a high-pressure sodium floodlight in the grounds of the adjacent building. The fence shadow is particularly appealing...

Quite pleasing on the eye. I was actually trying to get a photo of the deep puddle by the kissing gate...

Nice work Jim.

More joy from the remarkable trail cam. It took 240 images of the birds tempted to the various feeding stations with a 60p bag of wild bird food. Plenty of excellent images like the one of the blackbird making it to POTD, along with chaffinches, hedge sparrows, robins and great, blue and coal tits in all their glory.

I was hoping to get an image of this bird, another regular visitor to the feeding stations at that location but usually too fleeting and quick a visit for a decent photo with the point and shoot.

Bingo it did make an appearance in 2 out of the 240 images on the trail cam.

Luckily for me I live a pretty stress free life Husky :-D The only troubles I get are DIY challenges rather than stresses!! :)

I'm normally very stress-free - essential to my health not to get too stressed but today it ran close...

I had to cancel Bury Field parkrun after finding the course almost entirely submerged when I check-ran it this morning

The river had burst its banks and this was what greeted me in Castle Meadow just across from my house this morning...

This is a floodplain and rarely this 'full'..

And from the Iron Bridge...

The stress came from the pile of admin I had to do in connection with cancelling a parkrun because of a flooded course!

Then I found I have a load of work to do in my TT racing organisation role!

All nicely relieved by enjoying a most excellent lunch with Mick at our favourite pub!

Maybe canoeing would be a viable alternative Jim?

Good plan Robin, we could have easily hosted one this Saturday :D

This is just one small area of the course...
IMG-20240209-WA0000.jpg
Most of it looks like this :D I love running through terrain like this but most parkrunners don't - hence why I pulled the plug. Last time I declared such conditions perfectly runnable, I had to take a lot of flak... What I consider runnable is not what most do!

Many parkruns have succumbed to flooded courses this Saturday, especially around here... I'm expecting the one I'm going to tomorrow to be extra busy...

A trip in a canoe would have been entirely possible Steve  A bog snorkelling event has also been suggested
