Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I thought this was only recently installed when I saw it, pristine polished oak, and both magnificent and tailored to the space it occupies. No it was installed in 1974 as part of the 1300th Anniversary of the Abbey. In a first it was designed, built and installed by Lawrence Phelps of Erie Pennsylvania, who provided the stand-out design against competition from a number of organ builders in Britain and across Europe. Not surprising its a blend of art and architecture which fits the setting beautifully.

Same place you can get the colourful sheep and the banana curd...and can be seen through the window of the Queens Hall Cafe with the clock at quarter to one while munching a cheese and bacon scone.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....

I hope I haven`t posted this here yet, I`m on so many social medias I sometimes forget what I`ve posted where. Anyway I`m a hobbyist luthier with an output of one instrument about every two or three years LOL. This is my latest one, it`s based on the plans of an Ibanez Satriani but the body was shortened a little and shaped differently as I wanted a beveled edge instead of the rounded one on the original. The neck wasn`t made by me it was a salvage off a Washburn I found in a trash skip but I did veneer the headstock myself. On the body the woods used are Mahogany on the edges, the light strips are Eucalyptus Grandis A.K.A Rosegum, and the center strip is walnut, with a black veneer between each strip. Finished off with about eight to ten layers of boiled linseed oil (can`t even remember as it took ages)

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I thought that I recognised "Ibanez" from posts on the forum. Steve posts up tracks from Berit Hagen, otherwise known as The Commander In Chief, a metal guitarist turned classical who is a particular advocate for Ibanez guitars.
Have a scan down the posts of this search list you may be able to pick out some interest from it.
For example
