Videos are a good thing to capture transient moments, and still pics are easy to create with a screen print of a video paused at a particular point in playback.

This picture was one example. Hit and miss whether the splash moment could be captured with a shutter click of the point and shoot Falcon photographic device but I took a video and on playback stopped the action, did a screenshot and

Voila :!:

Further to the above, the other night I took this picture and a few more of similar ilk. There was very clearly and very close a bat (Die Fledermaus...not a cricket bat) on a bit of a circuit and what I thought would be eminently photographable. None of the attempts caught the bat in the image.

Next time...the video button will be pressed and should I achieve it, I intend to be the first to bring an original picture of a flying bat to POTD Bat club.

On first sight I presumed that it was an installation of your own construction.

Excellent work Jim and a very good start to Saturday's POTD. :-D

It is the weekend, very nice autumnal bright and fresh start, out of the armchairs FCF faithful, arm yourself with a photographic device, go somewhere and bring back some photos with which to festoon POTD.

Here`s a couple images of today and yesterday from me... Didn`t see a tree through mudded up rear window so had a bit of an oopsie doopsie. Did some asset recovery from the old wreck today: battery, driver window regulator, both tail lights and 47L of diesel, that`s 300eur saved easy, if not more. Looks like the tail lights do fit but they`re a little differently rifled across the generations but I don`t suppose that`ll be an issue since most of the folks on my mail route didnt notice this week that the car has changed colors

You may have to start a Blog Matt, you seem to be having an incident packed time!
So that's the new one with a bit of a ding after sliding off the road in the old one! :?:

Yup :D That might have sth to do with me having to be at work yesterday in high fever (I`m a private contractor and had no chance of getting a temp in under 12h) I`m somewhat known for my bad fortune too, I`m 38 and if I`ve counted correctly the new brown-ish one is my 35th car so far. I`ve owned everything from a 916 Spider Alfa to a MAN GTA lorry truck with a couple Nissan Terrano2:s in between including a lot of frencies just to name a few an MI16 405 and a 205 Lacostè. I also like all sorts of weird and unusal vehicles, for example I`m writing this in my garage office about two meters away from my Yamaha GTS 1000 motorbike.

EDIT: You know what I just might open a blog thread here documenting what it`s like driving mail in rural Finland if anyone is interested. It`s at times pretty eventful.

I was working on the South Coast this morning, when I encountered this magnificent person (Oscar, the Eurasian Eagle Owl).

Yes please :-D Give it a general title like "Matts' Motoring Tales from Finland...", don't restrict yourself to "Matts Mail Tales!". Plenty of interest in it I'm sure.
