Yesterday was a very good day. After a cracker of a very chatty and social club run and given it was such lovely weather, I got stuck into Strawberry's MoT advisory.. I was a bit late to the party as I spent longer than planned apres-run in the café drinking tea and being all social

Replacing her nearside swivel joint.

All very straightforward. First job was to remove the lower parcel shelf, some trim and then lift the carpet to get at the suspension arm rear mount nuts:

I was delighted to note she's bone-dry under her carpets

And with the front mount through-bolt out and after disconnecting at the hub, out she comes:

Old joint pressed out:

And in goes the new:

It took 5 tons to press out the old and 6 to press in the new...

The amount of wear/play in the old joint was very small - shows the car had a thorough MoT

Reassembly was a reversal of disassembly as the BoL might say. I got the whole job done just before dusk closed in.

Bluebell also had a nice little warming run as I needed to move her to get decent access to my press.

Great job there Jim , isn't it nice when jobs go as planned, dry carpets are a bonus too. Love them little AX cars always did have a soft spot for them.

My love for the AX is total... I have very happy memories of them from my much younger days and I think that has a lot to do with it...

I've had a lot of cars but the AX has, by far, the most emotional attachment to me.

Both of mine are definite keepers

Today I'll be giving my bike a full service ahead of a planned first ride in 2026. It's slated to be a lovely day here today...

Another Saturday, another day officiating at parkrun, doing what I truly love

I've just finished writing my A to Z column for the March edition of the Citroen Car Club Citroenian magazine

In order to do so, I needed to re-do some photos and to do so I had to wake up Bluebell and ease her our of her garage...

Couldn't resist a couple of pictures in the winter sunshine whist she was out

And a photo of Bluebell's very clean engine bay. In looking at this photo during processing I noted a small problem...

It's not the first time it's happened and a cable tie will fix it

I'm looking forward to getting Bluebell back on the road - she only needs for me to send an amount of money to DVLA for VED and I will as soon as all risk of salty roads has passed.

Nope, neither of those thoughts... The 'loose pipe' is in fact the dipstick top and the headlamps are well secured in the proper way

I can't see much to be concerned about Jim mine is missing the intake temperature control so maybe the vacumn control hose needs a connector clip

Nope, the dipstick is the dipstick who fixed the dipstick in a dipstick sort of way to retain the original dipstick in an attempt to prevent the present dipstick loosing the dipstick down the dipstick hole. That said, calling it a dipstick hole rather than a dipstick tube is a bit of a dipstick thing to say, thus betrays me as the dipstick who made the dipstick fix to this dipstick which should absolve the present dipstick owner of abusing his dipstick.
