Re: I am an Activa owner...a V6 and I am an addict
I will BUT :
I need to make a new one, the only ones I have would maybe get me into a little trouble
...... and have a bit of wind/radio noise
I have also got to get a microphone set up on the Go-Pro as phones cannot really record it well nor can the inbuilt one.

Re: I am an Activa owner...a V6 and I am an addict
Well I tried an old headset with the mic cut off and recorded (a bit close I think) to the exhaust pipe, not as noisy as that a few feet away and really muted in the cabin. There is also a bit of a loss on the deep notes

That sounds lovely! Particularly as it revs and then drops off.

Wow, thats not what you expect from a Xantia. I'd have to wear earplugs to drive that or I'd crash laughing at the amazing noise.

You cannot hear it inside the car, except when giving it the go go juice....
(Depends on how high you have your PC volume
, the (crap) mic is on the ground near the exhaust pipes)

Re: I am an Activa owner...a V6 and I am an addict
SO ....a good day all in all.
The Fans and Aircon work perfectly now....result
The engine in FINALLY DRY with the cam cover (minor) leak fixed with a helicoil inserted, NO DRIPS on the tarmac.....YIPPIE !
and as in the other post a new Ss fitted and happy with it both in sound and in "the OEM" look.

on a side note, my friend "up the hill" who is a Truck mechanic and has been a total star in helping me with many things got his first ride out in the ACTIVA yesterday.....let just say the passenger dash handle (S1 car) has now been renamed the "F-Me Grip" !
Praise for the stability, grip and comfort of the Activa, he still cannot get his head around it being so comfortable and yet be so silly

Re: I am an Activa owner...a V6 and I am an addict
An excellent result all round Alasdair
I'm delighted...
Don't you dare drive like that when I'm in it
Unless you want to learn a whole new lexicon of profanity...
That is exactly why I love an Activa so, so much.

It is so counter-intuitive and against all that's considered normal in an ordinary car... The fact it does not roll, is so stable and well-planted but then so comfy is the absolute joy of an Activa. Any you don't haver to drive it at all hard to appreciate it...Stickyfinger wrote:Praise for the stability, grip and comfort of the Activa, he still cannot get his head around it being so comfortable and yet be so silly
