It's a thing of beauty Husky and quite a significant step up from my old 'phone.. I'm well-known for extracting the maximum possible life from my 'phones. My old one is now my new 'burner phone'. Shame my new one is not perfect though and may need to be swapped for another one soon...

Needs more than that Serious structural problem have been found in the old conservatory footings and that's pushed the cost well clear of what I can afford/justify so project cancelled

My new phone has problems already I will try a scratch rebuild today and if that doesn't solve it then it'll need to be replaced. Two essential functions - contactless payments and 2FA notifications/approvals - cannot be made to work and appear to have a common root cause... If they don't work for me it's a showstopper.

One of my clocks has a problem and needs a full overhaul. It's currently not going I can't do it any time soon because...

Problems were discovered during my post-op check-up yesterday and it may end up me having to go back in for attention at short notice if things deteriorate/develop further...

I remain banned from driving and must, by order, do as little as possible until the problems are resolved...

Pee'd off and frustrated doesn't even begin to describe it...

I'm unable to do certain things at the moment, I know what it feels like too I'm still waiting for a consultation on 1 medication as im told by one professional Dr not to take it and another saying it ok, then a pharmacist telling me no as it can lead to serious and permanent nerve damage to lower spine then legs then ... hello life in a chair . Very much with you Jim on being pe*d off, it horrble knowing things need doing but you mustn't dare, ive an mot next month aswell, the 308cc, i can drive but have been told for now bare minimum miles ,what ever that means. Think I might start wrightin ghost storys least thats one thing that hasn't got a no no from any medical people. Not dissing any hospital or dr or nurse they have all been brilliant this year. Just think Jim each day is a gift and each one moves you closer to recovery.

That applies to us both Husky We'll both get there and be back firing on all cylinders before we know it

That's the trouble with members of the medical profession; they all have their own opinions and often differ And they don't always appreciate that some of their patients know their bodies exceedingly well and know when something's not quite right - especially we athletes. I was going to say we know ourselves intimately but thought that might not sound quite right

One bright spot is I always see the same plastics nurse - note: NOT a plastic nurse - she's very human and very lovely She's a ultra marathon runner so lots in common and to talk about whilst she does her things... She also understands what it's like to be banned from all you love...

And she sees I'm well stocked up on spare dressings!

The day before yesterday was one of those when it can all get a bit on top of you. I helps to vent a bit in my blog so thanks all for listening

Yesterday was infinitely better and today has kicked off well too...

I rebuilt my 'phone from scratch and learned a heck of a lot about Android phones, especially rebuilding one from scratch and restoring selected bits from backups. The rebuild fixed all but one problem and in doing a full backup of the phone I found a long-standing problem somewhere in the configuration that stopped part of the backup happening. Given I've now got through several generations of Android 'phones it's not surprising a few corruptions have crept into the system over the years. A bit like human DNA getting mutations over time and causing 'interesting' things to occur...

All that and I find the 'phone will still need to be replaced - it has a duff NFC reader And yes, I have checked it's enabled in the configuration

Still, with all my new knowledge, building its replacement will be a breeze!

Later today I'm out for lunch with my lady-love That'll be good

I've sort of looked into astrophotography again , just waiting for a laptop thats being built to spec for the stacking of the photos I take , that should be a learning curve , plus take my mind of things. Onwards and upwards I say , well done with the phone Jim. Venting off now and again helps clear the mind , plastic nurse ... sure thats a del boy and Rodney thing there somewhere

Yes, that's a good plan Husky, I've seen some superb stuff, especially of the Milky Way. Having something to get very deeply into is very good therapy indeed Every time I see a clear full moon I'm so tempted to get set up and see if I can get some really good images...

I'm keen to finish the current film in my camera and get it in the tank. It has a lot of photos of my granddaughter from a while back and I'm also keen to try out a new brew of developer.

As you know, my photography specialism is very much sports orientated. I have a couple of gentle, easy gigs this weekend at parkruns - ones I can do seated and with tripod

Last time out with the camera at parkrun, a small dog pee'd all over my camera bag The dog's owner - a fellow runner - was mortified...

Happily, no harm done. A few baby wipes saw to that

Big news yesterday... Just as the clocks changed, this little girl arrived

My second granddaughter and a sister for Autumn... Both mum and daughter are doing exceedingly well

Her mum and dad had her named as soon as they knew she was a girl. They kept it secret as none of us knew until a few hours after she was born... For a while she was known as baby TBA!

That said, Robyn gave me a sneaky clue months ago - look at the bottle of Coke she's drinking I didn't twig... No surprise there

And no, before any of you ask, she did not name Erin after a bottle of pop!!!

In other news, I'm now just about mobile enough that I could start up Polly and Strawberry - they'd not been started for several weeks so a warming run was definitely needed. I'm hoping I'll be cleared to drive on Wednesday... I need to go and see Erin!

Currently I'm unable to access Bluebell - can't yet squeeze into her, given how tightly she fits in her garage. Her MoT is nearly out and in no way am I going to be able to get her MoT'd any time soon so she's now on SORN for the foreseeable.
