An excellent day yesterday :D Over ten miles walked over the course of the day...

This year's Beat the Barge was a superb event. Walked it even though it was a proper running event - special provision was made for those of us who couldn't and we were given a 15 minute head-start...

I walked to and from the event...

Today I'm out all day marshalling at the Cowman Triathlon. I was due to participate but exchanged my race place for a deferment and a swap to marshalling on the run course...

I'm cycling there as there's no restriction on that activity; only on running which I hope may be lifted - until surgery - tomorrow. Fingers crossed...

Today has been mostly spent marshalling on the Cowman Triathlon run course :)

Gosh, did I ever see some tired legs on lap 4 of the Cowman distance event - a 1.2 mile swim, 90K bike and a half marathon to finish...

Lots of FOMO (jealousy) because I was marshalling and not doing... Had all been OK, I was going to do the Calfman Bike/Run - half that distance and no swim...

My marshal point was in the middle of a static caravan park... The one that's tucked away in a very secluded and scenic part of Emberton Country Park near Olney...

I rode there on my bike - as said, no restriction on that activity - and took full advantage of that to make my ride home as long as possible :)

Tomorrow I will find out if the nurse will allow me to run again. I'm not too hopeful but hope springs eternal...

And it's a 'no' from the nurse today

At least there's no restriction on walking or cycling :) I'll be doing a lot of both until my next appointment...

Who are you trying to kid? I've seen you walk with your elbows out to get a coffee first at the bar! Thankfully Autumn is still small and hasn't been hit on the head yet.

A very positive consultation with the plastic surgeon today at Stoke Mandeville :-D We even found a parking space :o

I now know exactly what is going to be done (at Wycombe Hospital) in around 6 weeks time - almost perfect timing - and how things will be in the days after...

I'll be a bit groggy, glowing in the dark from the nuclear bit they have to do, be more or less mobile with care but will be unable to run or cycle for around three weeks following  I'll also be unable to drive for several days too...

That's purgatory for me, the running ban especially, but worth it in the long-term. Now I know exactly what's going to happen I'm a lot less anxious and much more content :-D

Sian, my younger daughter, who travelled up from London today just to be with me, was my chauffeur and hand-holder-in chief... She did an absolutely splendid job of both and is an excellent driver...

Just been out on a bike ride to decompress 8-) I remain banned from running until Tuesday at least...

Agreed Ryan unless he's going for a run:
Spoiler: show
Which way am I going?
Which way am I going?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I can lend you a radiation monitor, Jim, so you can let us know when you're no longer a nuclear hazard and safe to visit
