Great news with the driving Jim.
Your stool looks like a Dalek in miniature. Does it double up as anything else? Is it bigger on the inside?

Thanks Steve :D

The stool can be played a bit like a concertina but thankfully it does it silently ;)
Skull wrote: 21 Jul 2025, 09:05 Great news Jim that stool looks comfy too =D>
Put a towel on it for a modicum of comfort and it's not bad at all... That it's almost infinitely adjustable is a massive bonus too...

Yesterday, another parkrun, another drenching in heavy rain  It must be me... Have I become a rain-god again?

Will I get drenched at Junior parkrun today I wonder :-k

Yesterday I was Run Director at a big grown-up parkrun :) Normally I'm only trusted to do such a critical job at little parkrun*

Me in action yesterday, captured by a sneaky photographer...

* Actually, I jest. Being Run Director at big parkrun is a lot less a demanding role than it is at Juniors. 300 fairly responsible adults who can look after themselves for the most part need only a fraction of the management compared to 150 excitable children at Juniors

Loving the Viva in the video  I thought it was a Firenza at first but the boot badge confirms it isn't... I once had a base-model HC Viva - by far and away the very worst car I ever had the displeasure to own  That said, in the form of the Firenza coupe they look awesome. And I understand with the 2300 slant-four engine they're quite good. Mine had the dreadful 1256cc wheeze-box..

I'm happy to report my rain-god spell is broken. I'd stayed dry for me at Juniors whilst doing my David Bailey bit. There I took perhaps the best photo ever :) That made me happy after a distinctly bad start to the day :( parkrun - both big and little - are my therapy and my therapy was completed when I went out for a rather lovely ride with Steph to one of our local cafes :D

And, it was dry enough to fully dry the bedding I only washed two days ago and had to wash all over again as I bled (and spilt other bodily fluids) all over it during the night

 You can rest easy Ryan, it was none of the body fluids you might think it was and Steph was in no way involved :D

And rest assured all my photography is all 100% legit ;)

Today is likely to be a bit 'exciting' and 'fun' and one I'm not looking forward to at all :( More later...

Today, I've received confirmation I have melanoma (skin cancer) in my left leg following a biopsy a couple of weeks ago.

Luckily, it's been caught early and the upside is that further (fairly significant) surgery should see it all sorted. The downside is that from now on until several months after I will be unable to run.

Surgery will take place sooner rather than later I'm told.

I can walk as much as I like and it appears I can still ride my bike so not all bad...

For the past few days I've been going stir-crazy with worry about it but now I know and indeed know the prognosis is good, I'm now back to my old self again ;)

Thanks Steve :D I won't feel any pain during the op. as I'll be under a general anaesthetic at a rather famous hospital: Stoke Mandeville :)

Afterwards... Ummmm...
