Testing my Diagbox set-up this morning I did my usual and checked the DeNox status...

Allegedly I have two litres of urea in the tank and this is enough for a further 4000Km. My memory suggests it's been sitting at this figure for ages now... But then, the mileage I do that may be accurate.

Now, given the tank capacity, should I now top it up, along with a dose of Crystal Clear or wait for the prompt to pop up on the dash?

My car broke yesterday...

First time in my ownership I've seen this warning...

AdBlue tank now topped-up and a new dose of Crystal Clean and Clear added...

Intrigued to see the bottle of Crystal Clean and Clear has an expiry date... Seems I must use all the AdBlue I added today by Junes 2026...

Going on how long it took to use the last tankful that might not happen!

We have to thank Mick for that Matt, it was he who alerted me to it - I'd have never have seen it otherwise

The Wynns stuff is incredibly slippery and contains a lot of detergent. I found this when I spilt a little drop of it...

I first dosed my AdBlue tank not long after acquiring the car and taking a look into the almost empty tank yesterday it looked very clean in there

My car had a jolly good run yesterday - down to deepest Dorset and back with me riding shotgun. I'm sure it did the car good and I found it's quite a nice car to be in as a passenger.

And I reckon the DPF got a few regens!

Interesting Jim, thanks. Given how clumsy I tend to be I'm quite surprised I've not sloshed the Wynn's stuff somewhere. I think I've got one more top up in the next, say, 6 months and that'll be my big 20 litre Adblue tub emptied!

Still not pulled out the injector "just for a look" as yet but hopefully the Wynn's is doing it's thing.

I'm sure Polly appreciated the longer run, always does good to stretch the legs

On my way back from Charmouth on Thursday, I fired up my very old Garmin Nuvi satnav. I'd not used it for ages and ages...

Unsurprisingly, it said its maps were out of date with a message that f I visited the Garmin website I could update them in exchange for an (undisclosed) sum of money...

Yesterday I connected it to the Garmin utility on my PC I use to keep my running and cycling devices up to date and now I have a satnav with fully up-to-date maps and at no cost

When I wanted to do that with mine, which is unregistered, they wanted £76 for the update and it had to be a Windows computer, so that was abandoned.

I could have replaced it with a better one from Aldi for under £50 and free lifetime updates.
I did use it recently, more from curiosity than anything as it had sat in a drawer for three years.
Didn't work so used the phone but when I arrived at my destination, had a poke about with it and it was corrosion in the lighter socket, worked fine on the return journey. It did say that it hadn't been updated in over a year (Ha! at least 12 years). This was in daughter's C3.

The Mazda has a logic defying snazzy built in one that we used to get to granddaughter's on Teesside to see great-granddaughter, fortunately my copilot (youngest daughter) seems to have an aptitude for these things and set it for the destination and also got the talky bit working, a woman with a Irish accent.
Only needed to find our way out of the housing estate and to the A19 to get home but discovered that there was no way to shut the damned thing up.

It was just busy and all the occupants looked distinctly adult to me... The worst spots were on the Stonehenge section of the A303 and a bit on the A34 where there was a breakdown I think it was. And then a crawl near Buckingham where they're building HS2 at a positively glacial speed.

It just seems to me that the roads just can't carry the massive and likely what's now the normal volume of traffic.

A big and very significant day for me yesterday I was due to race a Duathlon at Belvior Castle yesterday with my lady-love and she was going to drive us both there...

But due to an appointment with a scalpel last week I couldn't race. In return for deferring my place to next year and not loosing my £80 entry fee I elected to marshal at the event instead. This entailed me being at the event at 0630 yesterday morning. Steph doesn't 'do' mornings so I really had to drive there, especially as Steph's event didn't start until 08:30..

So I did and succeeded My longest drive in living memory and it went well. I am delighted

Yesterday saw me standing on a corner in a small village near Long Clawson in Nottinghamshire - famous for its Stilton Cheese - for some 6 hours marshalling on the bike course. It was busy and in all around 700 bikes racing various events were in action...

I made myself quite at home Have collapsible stool, towel, radio and snacks and I'm good

I found a convenient tree to shelter under when the rain was at its worst...

The drive home was good and uneventful apart from a short-lived queue on the A1...

Success Seems I can drive again!

Steph had a great day too; smashing her very first Duathlon in fine style
