No and No
These are just actuator tests to check that the components work when commanded to do so - a lack of response would indicate a faulty component or possible electrical issue.

There is no option in the BSI for remote boot opening (unless you have the Tourer with motorised boot) and then this can only be activated via the fob.

There's one more thing. Can the diag software show live data with the engine running? Like Live Data Graph or Live Data Meter? I want to see the fuel trims.
Cheers

Yes although it depends on the sort of data that you want. You can select various parameters to show live data - the instructions will tell you how to run the them - depending on the test.

I'm assuming you are in the UK - I can recommend Easydiagnostics - that way you will ensure you have a full-chip kit that is C5 compatible. There are lots of posts about cruise control conversion on the Forum - just search. Regarding your operating system - I can't say for sure Windows 10 is fully compatible from personal experience - but it won't work properly if it is a 64 Bit operating system as we said earlier in the thread.

If your C5 is like mine you first need to check the brake pedal. There are two possible wiring setups (and, for the first option, two switch setups as well). The wiring options are;
1, 2 pairs of wires, each ending in a plug, one white, the other red,
2, 4 wires ending in one white plug (my 2004 C5 has this configuration).

For the first option you WILL have the white plug connected to a white switch (this is for the brake lights). However, you may find that the red plug is not connected to anything. If this is the case you will need to get the relevant RED switch, which will disconnect the cruise control when the brake pedal is pressed.

If you have either option 2 (4 wires, one switch), or option 1 WITH the red switch all you will need to do is to fit the cruise control stalk, and then (using the Lexia) go into the menu pertaining to the Driver Module, locate the Cruise Control (which will be set to "Absent"), change it to "Present", save that setting, go into the option for testing (sorry, I cannot remember what that is displayed as), and check the stalk is responding correctly as you press the various buttons/switches. All being well, your C5 will now have cruise control. This will only work in either 4th or 5th gear, at/above 40MPH.

I have got an Easy Diagnostics Lexia clone, and it does work with my C5. However, my netbook (a Toshiba NB250) is running Windows 7 (32bit version). I have noticed that, during the loading process of the DiagBox, it clearly says NOT to install Windows 10.

Installation of Diagbox 7.57 went just fine on Windows 10 64bit laptop. And I thought there would be some problems with this. :o

The installation is not the problem! It is the running of the Lexia - specific software application and communication with the car when using the Lexia application launched from within Diagbox. Lexia is needed for older cars and this is where the problem lies when using on a 64 Bit OS like Windows 10.

OK. I just need diagbox, so no problem for me. I was using it with Win7 64bit earlier also without problem. I thought there was some problems with driver installation on 10, but I was wrong.

I got Acer Aspire One mini laptop with Win7 Starter for free to use with diagbox, but didn't manage to finish installation on it. After few failures I decided to try install on my main laptop with Win10 and success! :D

Your problem is likely resources using win 7 starter edition as it only supports 2Gb of memory and Diagbox is quite resource intensive.

My Toshiba NB250 has 2GB RAM, is running Windows 7 Starter, and (although it can be slow at times) does run my Lexia (using Diagbox v7.15) without any issues.

My Acer has got only 1GB memory. That activation screen in the middle of installation doesn't appear for some reason, and I can't continue installation from there.

I just checked and on my Win10 laptop diagbox uses just around 50MB of ram after starting, so it doesn't seem to use that much memory. I thought 1GB is enough?

I would up the memory to 2GB RAM then. That will improve the performance straight away.

How long did you leave the installation? I have known for computers to take a long time to process things (and do not show you how they are doing until that process completes).
