No, I seem to of hit him somewhere betwix Boston & Stamford, the bugger took my cover with him judging by the remains of the cover. What is worrying is the fact that wild MAY's have spread that far north !

I can only think it dropped off at one end and caught on a stone. I did not hear a thing, maybe dislodged by water the day before.

There is a missing section (replaced) of the electrical cable wrap (hard plastic) and the fuel lines hanging low, maybe with 1/2 inch road clearance.
There is ZERO damage, marks or scrapes to either the fuel lines or the wires so the cover cannot of been off long before I got to the park.

That's what I thought, no signs of grounding damage or anything at all...

Apart from the missing section and dislodged ends it was all immaculate under there...

Stainless Steel Exhaust done = result = Not Happy.

To be fair to them they volunteered to have the car back in as soon as I phoned and described the problem, they seem happy to sort it out. The quality of the actual work is very good. So I am happy to let them sort the problem at the moment as I am sure there is an expected amount of "fettling" needed in such a trade. (there had better be :) )

The basic problem seems to me they put to small a back box on it and it sounds VERY LOUD unless above 3k RPM and produces a MASSIVE DRONE when using the torque of the car rather than revs. I do not think they fully understood about how the car drives and are maybe are to used to fitting exhausts to 4 pot, small CC oilers.

They seem very willing to sort it out, so not worried but "On Guard"

I have to work using peoples "description of colour", that is as equally subjective as describing sound. I at times need to darken/brighten or change a tone on Painted Radiators so understand the problem.

Unfortunately SS systems do have a tendency to drone Alasdair...

The Xantia V6 is a very refined car and it needs a quiet exhaust.

I trust their remedial works will produce the goods..

My ideal V6 exhaust would sound the same as the OEM system on an XM ES9 V6. That system is just right for sound...

This is where we differ in use of the car Jim.

The V6 Auto is the best GT car, V6 Activa should always of been a bit of a snorter....as per the difference between a DS and an SM

I know of the drone on SS, that is not the problem, it is booming at low rev's using the torque. I am sure it is the back-box that is the cause of the excessive noise so should be easy for them to remedy. It certainly cannot be describes as "Quiet to Mid" at the moment.
BUT
On song......it sounds good.

FYI, I had it made with a middle box silencer.

I do enjoy a bit of P and Q in a car Alasdair. I don't do noise of any sort. I like it quiet and that goes for everything in life!!!
