Just a word of warning about getting lexia installed on the PC though... It's incredibly 'clunky' software and can be a right PITA to complete. It took me weeks of trying, to get it to complete install correctly with all the updates (OT would frequently get part way though and then freeze, with the only solution being to completely wipe and restart from scratch.
Once done, fantastically useful though (though in truth, it's also a bit of a clunky user interface then, too  )

Thank you Marc,

To avoid the extra work in sorting a suitable laptop if our daughters one turns out to be a problem, I wondered if this item which is ready configured with a laptop would be of any use.

You may not be able to tell from the advert, I understand that.

It appears to be an older version of the diagnostic system, but that is not necessarily a problem.

I know computers well as we work online and have seven of the beasts : )

We supply vintage radio service data, some car radio manuals and service sheets as well if any members are looking for service data : )

But as far as these systems go I know next to nothing.

Thank you for your time.

Hi Spiff - I believe that seller is the same as a member here bought from and didn't get what was advertised in the photo, so would be aware of this. However you would need to ensure the laptop had a bit of welly as running Diagbox can be a bit resource intensive - but if it is up to the job the price is reasonable. I believe in the advert, they show in the top right corner the S1279 Module - which is the add-on interface that is normally sold for anything up to £30 or more. This is the bit they don't ship, so is misleading! You don't need it, but I'm a stickler for getting making sure sellers get things right!

Thank you Marc,

I have messaged the seller to ask if the S1279 Module is include.

That way I shall know what to expect and happly with it.

Sellers some times do things like that deliberately, but then it can be by error.

I recently purchased two actuators for my routable satellite dishes, the image showed SuperJack which is a known quality make, the items that arrived were an obscure make.

Fortunately I got one for free as they sent the wrong size : )

I let Amazon know about the incorrect listing to help protect others, from the satellite forum several members have been caught out the same way.

I did a search on the forum for S1278 to see it I could find the member you mentioned who purchased from this seller, but no luck.

I am going to post in the section on the Lexia to see if any members have experience of that particular sellers goods.

From reading in the section on the Lexia, it would appear that the device is not that system resource hungry, more that it likes to be the only program installed on a clean install ?

The seller does mention that he has disabled other items from running etc, which is a good point in his favour.

Thank you Marc,

I have been in touch with Davie, he said it appeared to work as it should, though he is still waiting for the S1279 interface.

I contacted the seller to ask if it was included, he said no, but he would supply it for £20 with the unit.

I have purchased the Lexia and laptop.

I shall not leave feedback until I hear that Davie has the S1279 interface as promised.

So when it arrives all I have to do is plug it in, it say's "can I help you" I say "just fix the car" it goes whirr, click, bleep all done : )

I wish.

In an ideal world Spiff! But then what we do then? And before you say “enjoy driving them” just think of the dreaded driverless cars we can all look forward to - Not! 😳

Good evening gentlemen,

My Lexia and Laptop arrived in one piece, no thanks to the packing : )

The program finds the correct VIN but also requires the RPO number.

I cannot get a full view of the drivers door pillar at the moment, if that is where it is located.

I joined Citroen Service as there was a suggestion online that it could be found on that site using the VIN, but could not locate anywhere to do that.

The two images show a number next to the VIN on the bonnet gully and another on the other side.

The car is a C5 2003 any suggestions on its location or anyway to find it from the VIN would be much appreciated.

Hi. I eventually received the extra module, free of charge but it took threats of further action to get it. I can be a pernickity got when I have been wronged. I did not have to enter anything for the 407, it picked up everything when connected. It appears to work ok, although I will quantify that by saying I am not good with technology. My problem now is although I can get the codes and description of what’s wrong, I have no idea what to do to fix the bloody car, so I am no further ahead, just £200 worse off lol

It is running Diagbox v07.62 and should be the same as Davie, we both purchased from the same seller.

So far that is about all I know, Marc has just kindly found the RPO number for me : )

Is one system beter than the other ?

Is it possible to use both on the same computer with the same interface ?

Just added = the eBay listing said LEXIA 3, I am confused : )

Found this online it said : -

Lexia is for Citroen
Planet pp2000 is for Peugeot
Put both programmes into one software = diagbox

I wonder is that correct ?

Was your unit packed any better than mine Davie ?

Hi Spiff. To keep it simple, Peugeot Planet 2000 was the stand alone software for Peugeot and Lexia was the software for Citroen vehicles. These were no longer developed when Diagbox was introduced. They were both incorporated into Diagbox to support older vehicles (circa 2006 and earlier). So that is why you have a choice to use Diagbox or Lexia when you launch the system.

In your case Lexia will be the one you will likely select given your vehicle is 2003.

Also, Lexia will ask you for your RPO build number where Diagbox won’t, as it will detect the VIN automatically.

It was well packaged Spiff. I have no complaints apart from the lack of the S1279 module, which to be honest I don't need just now although I might need in the future. And also to be honest I wouldn't picked up on it if Marc had not told me. I then thought that sellers shouldn't be advertising stuff with photos being part of the description, then sending these items with bits missing. That's why I dug my heels in and said I wanted the item as shown. To be fair, the seller did offer to send me a return label, and he would refund me when he got it back, but I refused that and said you refund me then I will send back because I wouldn't trust him as he had misdescribed it. I did threaten him with trading standards before I actually got the module. As it is I cant now leave feedback about it as it is too long since the purchase, but now I do have what I ordered, and it appears to be working well so I am reasonably happy about it, and if I do ever buy a boxer camper van, which could well be possible, then I have the gear for it!
