Yep, that's one of the reasons I argue with modern cars. My car should not have a higher IQ than I do and if it does it should fix itself.

Personally I would be very wary when buying from the bay, unless you know or have a recommendation from others as you really don't know what you are buying. The key issue is the hardware components inside the unit. A lot of the ones on the bay are not full chip units, only for the buyer to find out at a later date when it will not work with some or all of the car's systems.

I and many others here have bought from Easydiagnostics. They are the full kits and have a great support backup for buyers - more than can be said for some sellers on the bay. Your choice, but be advised.

That's why I went straight to easy diagnostics, so many horror storys from ebay products some even have games in them.
I would not advise that you upgrade to version 8 from the second dvd supplied and yes it will cover your C5 it covers MK1, MK2 and the X7 C5 models up to 2015. Price at the moment is £118 plus postage.

hi, can anyone clear up for me how to save my lexia activation code details to my desktop in windows 7 please I cant seem to find the file it should be in on my C: drive.
any help would be very much appreciated.
I wrote it all down first time around but when I upgraded to version 8 not knowing I wouldn't be able to activate it, I had to start again and the activation code changed then I forgot to note it down. second time around.

You don't open it Nigel, just copy it to a safe location, then if you ever need to activate your system again after a deactivation, just copy the file back to the same location. Don't try and open it with anything, otherwise it may alter the licence code and will be useless.
