Driveshaft intermediate bearing

Clean (rub) the mating bearing and housing surfaces and smear a bit of alupaste on. Then its like Shane's world : falls out next time [:)]

Thought much the same whatever is alupaste is, will probably use copper grease

Copper grease (copra slip, CUpaste, etc) will probably make it stick again [:)]
Alloy + copper + steel is not a good mix [:(]
That's why a use Alupaste (Aluminium grease, alu slip, etc) on alloy surfaces. It's much the same product with aluminium powder instead of copper powder.

This is interesting. In the course of replacing the second BX octopus in a week (different cars, thankfully), I seem to have found 2 wildly different cars. Old 19RD/TGD - r/h drive shaft more or less fell out in the way Shane describes. 19DTR auto - r/h driveshaft reluctant: held in by a tin retaining lip on the differential housing.
Will be looking at the diff housing again for the bolts...

i hope your not taking out drivshafts to replace the octafeline thing,thats cheeting regards malcolm
