Yes, its not the safest way to go and it might not actually be saving you fuel either. Unless you stop your engine it will still be using fuel to idle while the car comes to a stop, and if you end up using the brakes, the energy goes into heating your brakes up rather than turning the engine over and stopping it from using fuel.
