Busted !
It is a Pug !!
The Pug forum doesn’t come close to the Citroen forum when it comes to getting informative responses though.
For anyone interested, I drove the thing to the garage this morning with all lights on and got stuck in heavy traffic on the motorway for the first time in ages. How I sweated when the temperature started creeping up.
However, the belt has been replaced at a cost of 39 quid. It was worth it just to get the power steering back !
Thanks to all who replied.
