I had a friend around today who used to own an XM, he said that he thought the pump sounded noisy and was slow to pump the car up.
Where is the best place to try for a HD pump or should I say cheapest ?

Is the FD the square ish thing with 4 HP pipes coming from it... under the regulator ?

If its got one pipe coming from roughly each corner, then the answer is yes.
I'm afraid I can't agree with Wrinklet, my XM TD12 ('93b) has done over 480,000 km om the original HP pump and it's still going strong!

I,ll have a look at the FD fist... But the pump is making some very odd noises.
