E-2008 (E-208) charging rate.

Having only had my Peugeot for 6 weeks but having to use public charging several times, I'm a little disappointed at the rates I get.
According to the specifications, it's supposed to have a 100KW DC charging capability, however, I've never managed to get over 65KW rate, and that only for a couple of minutes before it drops down to ~34KW. This means that on a 54KWH battery it will take an hour between 20 and 80%, which I wasn't expecting.
These happen when the battery is between 20% and 70%, so in the safe, high charge range. External temperatures have been in the 6C to 17C range, so again, nothing excessive. I've also tried when I've only driven 2 miles from an overnight stop to a charging station, so the battery is basically at ambient temperature.
Has anyone managed to get sustained high charge rates?
FYI, this is a brand new 115KW, 54KWH Motability vehicle on the latest software.

I think this may throw some light, in explaining the charging curve, yes its a comparison between a Citroen C4 and Peugeot e-2008, but both car are electronically the same.
Also, I would take it back to you dealer and ask them to check you vehicles software version, there may be an update.

Like Stu I think that's a question your after sales service at your Dealer should answer. Just a small number of pioneers on here, but we are all keen to learn so if you post up your experiences it would be helpful to the many who will inevitably follow over coming years. My own experiences are at the bargain basement end rather than the new car end with my journey from taking the plunge in 2019 to today in 2024, 4½ years and nearly 50,000 miles later all recorded here. I don't have the large battery, or ultra rapid charging capability of the recent models but if the car sales guff says it has 100kW rapid charging capability that's what's it should deliver. That wishy washy statement of course could be interpreted with the caveat word "capability", that given a fair wind it charges at 100kW for 10 seconds or did so in some test conditions "on the bench". There was an awful lot of BS about range in the various figures manufacturers used to quote, gradually getting back to "real world range" but still not quite there. Ditto probably with charging speeds as your problem clearly illustrates.

Maybe the On-the-Road chargers while saying they pump out say "100" kW, but don't. If you haven't already, you could try these Instavolt 125kW chargers at KFC Havant :-D Even with my 50kW DC Chademo charging capability, the Instavolts seem "faster" than some other public chargers also rated at 50kW DC.

A little bit extra info on this SpeakEV thread "e-2008 Rapid Charging" which may help. Relates to the Maximum Power, Maximum Current and Maximum Voltage of charging stations. It's what I call "internet wisdom", always judge for yourself whether it makes sense.

An example:
Charging station max. power: 125kW
Charging station max voltage: 1000V
Charging station max. current: 125A

So, 125A*1000V = 125000W = 125kW.

However, our cars have a 400V architecture (battery pack voltage is ~400V). Our cars can charge at a max current of 250A (which gives a round ~100kW power, between 10-32% or so).
But, since our charging station can only spit out 125A and our battery packs are ~400V => max power could be only 50kW (125*400).

It is normal to only get 50-80kW charging power at certain 125kW-175kW charging stations. Don't worry about it.

I went back to them (Snows Portsmouth) after about 3 weeks - they showed my a chart, but all it showed was Type 2 AC charging! They didn't even realise that CCS is DC!

Totally agree about the real world mileage: It's supposed to get 250 miles - On a dry road and if the lights, heater, aircon and infotainment systems are all off, you might get close, It would be nice if they included the parasitic energy consumption in their figures. I went from Havant, to West London to North London and back to Havant - about 165 miles and I was on 15% battery by the time I got home - and the A3 Southbound has precisely zero chargers! :(

I've tried the Instavolt at McD's Cosham, which is another 150KW and the BP Pusle on the Emmsworth Bypass, again 150KW, both dropped down to 34KW after a couple of minutes whilst in the 35-45% range
