how to remove 207 fuse box

Post by nikeastwood »

my 207 HDi starter went bad so my mechanic friend put a new one in for me, at the same time he had checked some earthing straps and found them to be past their best, so replaced them

he also said one of the fuses under the fuse board in the engine bay was crusty, so he cleaned it up.

anyway the other day the car cut out on me just near home, close enough for me to coast into my residents car park, at first my code reader wouldnt connect, and then when it did there were a few codes set all relating to voltages and short to grounds, by this time the engine was able to be started fine after clearing of the codes.

it has then been running fine, no issues

and today on a short drive out it cut out again, I was able to restart it but it cut again within a minute.

I cleared codes and it then run perfect for the rest of my trip back

It doesnt appear that my engine bay fuse box is very well fitted, one of the earths to it is stopping the lid from closing, I would like to remove the fuse box, carefully check all of its connections, shorten the earth wire and refit it

I would just like to know how it comes out, at this stage.

I would be

disconnecting the battery first
undo the earth bolt/nut in the fuse box
undo the three[?] or 4 big terminal plugs

does it then just lift out?

any info that somebody can give me would be great

thanks
