Centre brake light
Hi. I've got a citroen C5 2009 registered 58 plate 2.0 hdi estate........ the centre brake light has never worked since I've owned it and the plastic is cracked..... is this a big job? The book says to consult a citroen dealer, but I've seen them on ebay for like £18 I'm guessing I'm not going to be that lucky. Can anyone offer any advice that's dealt with this issue? Cheers

Re: Centre brake light
Citroen only sell the complete unit of course, and these are a few quid under £100.

Re: Centre brake light
I could be wrong, And frequently am, I thought a certain percentage of the 3rd light had to be working.
I replaced all of my LED's when one had failed, cleaned all the crap off the circuit board and gave it a coating of laquer.

Although not legally required for the road, the ruling is if it is there, it needs to function.

Re: Centre brake light
Hi. Put in whatever you get cheaper. Originals are crap and they crack in 6 months. I run the 3rd one, cracked totali but still working.

Re: Centre brake light
no, as long as the 2 side brake lights work then it isn't an mot fail for the high level brake light to not operate........it will go on the sheet as an advisory mostly, sometimes it isn't even mentioned.........

Re: Centre brake light
There's nothing official as they only replace the entire unit.
