Hi everyone
My Citroen C3 Picasso suffers badly with heavy condensation on the inside of the windscreen overnight
Does anyone else have this problem

Re: Condensation
Hi Brian - We don't have a C3 Pic, but hell yes with the C3! I got in yesterday and it was like Niagara Falls on the windscreen! Had to go back in and grab a roll of Blitz to soak up the water from the windscreen before it ran down onto the dash.
I did wonder how the hell all that had got in there - did we have a mega frost overnight and instant thaw? Any how, I shut up all the internal vents last night and today there wasn't any - so you could try that and see. Never had it like that before and never on the C5.

Re: Condensation
Something I have found can help is if the glass is spotlessly clean. If there is any dirt it acts as a seed-point for condensation to form.

Re: Condensation
Even though it's winter, try running the A/C - even set to warm - as it will dehumidify the air in the cabin.
It's moisture-laden air that results in screen condensation when the outside temp drops.
Another cause of unexpected heavy condensation is a rainwater/coolant leak, that also cranks up the humidity.
If you've been lucky, heavy breathing on the back seat can have the same effect .

Just for info - our C3 has the digital climate control and I always leave it on Auto. We hadn't been out in it though for about 4 days or so, so maybe was an accumulation...
Coolant is fine too, no leaks.

Re: Condensation
Some shops have moisture absorbing kits to help prevent that.
Allegedly it is cheaper to but diatomic earth cat litter and portion it out into stockings to put in the car - or cut tights up if stockings unavailable.

Re: Condensation
Whilst replacing front struts I noticed that the drain holes in the front scuttle were blocked
A lot of water was resting in the indents all clear now
I have removed the particle filter and will get a replacement

Re: Condensation
I must get round to checking mine - but yes, it could be an accumulation of water in the air intake grill area - as it has been raining solidly - and I mean storm force winds and rain for nearly 2 weeks here - roads flooded and geysers on the roads (apart from me).

Re: Condensation
Mine does this but that’s because of a soaking wet driver’s side carpet. I shall be investigating where the water got in on the first dry day that comes!

Re: Condensation
Strangely enough just covered this concerning my second daughters Escort cabriolet. They thought it was the rag top that was leaking but it is the scuttle drains.

Re: Condensation
Yes, I think as soon as the torrential is over, I will also be checking the scuttle drains as I can't remember when In last checked them. If you have loads of veggies near or overhanging the car like us - I'm forever picking out dead leaves and other crud from the scuttles - so I suspect our could also be getting blocked - although it has not had any water on the inside screen for the last few nights.
