County Gallery (Originals Only)

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Any chance that over time members of the FCF can post up an original photograph for every single "traditional County" on the map of Great Britain. :?: Doesnt have to have been taken on or after Sunday 22/11/2020 at 10.12am, can be from your own photographic collection...as long as they are originals.

So first come first served, only one photograph required to claim a County, after that the County is off the list.

Too hard to join in......I dont think so.... :-D. Might help fill in the long winter nights.......with a dip in from time to time.

Who is going to get the ball rolling :?:

Here's my initial submission for Northants

I shall see what iI can do for my adopted home county today and then look for something from my true home county 😉

This is in a village called Barnston in Wirral. Historically Cheshire although it's now a Unitary Authority.

This isn't a public, or even a permissive, footpath. It's private ground that I used to range over 60-odd years ago as a kid. This time we asked permission of the farmer (the same one as farmed back then) before going exploring.

This one is certainly not an exemplar for the county concerned. It dates from about 1979/1980 and was taken in Brogyntyn Park, which is just to the north west of Oswestry. That means it's in Shropshire.

Paul you certainly can, but I cant put star on the map because refreshingly London isn't on it! :-D Woolwich used to be in Kent but I'll reserve Kent for something more obviously Kent if you dont mind :-D

This is (I think) mostly Hampshire, maybe with a whiff of Surrey, but we won't count that :-D The golfballs are at Oakhanger.

I was tempted to post Hadrian's but thought I'd leave it to you Neil! However I am wondering what happened to my green star border in Essex? :-D

Too big or not a consistent shade? These things can be corrected :-D

It seems to be an inconsistent shade, the size is proportional to the space it occupies nicely. :-D
