C4 1.6 VTi Stalling at Idle

Hi Guys

Coming to a loose end with a Citroen C4 1.6 VTi EP6 . When randomly driving, coming to a stop the engine will splutter or just stall out. No fault codes have arisen and several components have been replaced including spark plugs, MAP sensor, O2 sensor upstream and the intake gaskets have been replaced. Running out of cheap ideas before having to replace more items. The upstream O2 sensor has been constantly reading around 1.4v with little variation when under any load and the car never comes out of open loop into closed loop, the exhaust smells quite rich and this has been indicated with the spark plugs being abit sooty.

Any ideas what to check next?

I am guessing that this is a non-turbocharged version of the engine. Have you checked that the fuel pressure is correct, both with the engine stopped and running?
