Following on from the C5 thred. Is it possible to retrofit cruise control on a Xantia? Is the electrical connection generic on all Xantias or only the higher spec models?

Hi Thunderbird,
No smooth and sweet since new.. it was a company car running the length of the M3 for 3 yrs and serviced every 6k rather than 12.5k ( companys request) And up to Aberdeen 2 or 3 times a year which it still does...hence the request for cruise control!! and in another post a 6 speed box.
I got it as a replacement for my BMW K100rt 366k on the same engine!!

Yup but its still not a part associated with the CC (there is a complete section on PR-NET just for CC parts).
It is possible to get cc fitted to any car so its something that can be done but the Xantia as standard cant have it fitted to the Diesel variants (all the sales info on the Xantia I have shows this too).
Mr Gallagher, i believe you have a lot of sales info and general info on the Xantia, is it anything you know about?

In the UK cruise control was only available on V6 and 2.0 automatic models, I don't know about other markets.
Kowalski is correct in that 1.9 TD models from late 96 onwards were fitted with vacumn pumps, so I suppose it may be possible to fashion something up with some imagination.
If anyone can manage to do this I would be interested in putting it on my Xantia, I have it on my Berlingo and find it both very relaxing and useful in avoiding getting 'Zapped' by Gatso's when in unfamiliar areas.
One thing to bear in mind is that most insurance companies view fitting cruise control as a modification and hike up the premium.
