Smoked cod I can tolerate but not kippers or mackarell. Or even salmon.

What you can't see is all the ivy I have pulled down, garden itsfull of it. Going to take weeks to incinerate it all.

I lit a bonfire in my back garden some time ago, there was a 'suit' in the garden of the empty council house over the fence, he came across and told me that I could be evicted for doing that, it was against the law.

I told him it was my house bought and paid for and nobody was going to evict me and to get on and take a shovel to all the dog s**t that the ex tenant had left all around the garden he was standing in.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Fortunately I don't have that problem, living in the back of beyond there is no one to complain. I couldn't be isolated in a nicer spot, we have a forest at the top of the garden and views to the see in the other direction. I tend to spend most of my time here anyway and I'm catching up on some long awaited jobs - looks like our holiday is cancelled though. :(

Sounds to me like you are living a holiday Peter!! Were you hoping to spend a fortnight in a two up two down terraced house in Birmingham? :-D

No, something even more remote in the north of Scotland. 8-) Probably about 10C colder than it is here but beautiful scenery. We have a south east facing conservatory here which was at 36C this morning so we go in there instead of to Spain. We can also grow tomatoes in there nearly all the year round, we have flowers coming on this years already, took last years out in February.

Nearest town, Axminster is 7 miles away, nearest City Exeter 30 miles wouldn't suit everyone but we like it. Been in this house 50 years in July.

Sounds brilliant to me Peter!! Maybe I could pop in for a coffee on next year's road trip which I intend to be a coastal tour from Weymouth to Weston-Super- Mare via Plymouth, Penzance and all points south!! Hopefully that will be May next year assuming I manage to get this year's trip done by Christmas!! :)

Ok great thanks Peter. I'll PM you next year when I'm actually putting the plan together. I'll look forward to that. Meanwhile you are probably in the best place so stay safe! :)

I obviously have too much time on my hands as my 1600th post has come round in record time!! For me there can only be one choice of a celebratory 1600 car, as it is by a long, long way the best driving 1600 I have ever owned:
own work from archive

The Lancia Delta 1600 HF Turbo, a fantastic car to drive and I only wish I still had it!!! 8-) 8-) 8-)
