Jim ( Citroen Jim)

Post by Stickyfinger »

Jim Eastment

Jim was involved in a cycling accident yesterday and has been hospitalised.
Jim has a neck injury requiring a frame etc to immobilise him _temporarily_ and some broken ribs etc.

At present he resides in Milton Keynes Hospital (where one of his daughters works) and seems to be in his normal upbeat and positive mood.

A full recovery is expected.

I will update when he wishes me to........I will pass on ALL messages

Second that. There isn't a day where his input would have been invaluable.

Gracious me, yes, please pass on all of our best wishes.

CitroJim wrote: 03 Dec 2018, 16:48 Skull... NEVER, EVER trust the timing hole in the crank pulley on an Activa!!! They are NOT accurate on a used pulley...

Being a dual-mass the outer annulus - where the timing hole is - moves relative to the inner annulus over time...

I used to have a solid pulley from a Pug 205 I used for timing purposes...
Well after finally relenting I have bought a solid pulley (couldn't find one anywhere and also appealed on other sites).

The difference between the two is about 25 degrees and comparing the two, looks to have been running too advanced.

Hoping to get it all back together tomorrow and see how the engine sounds ...

I'm guessing I've been lucky not to damage the engine and hoping to get my boost back .....
Cheers Jim =D> Best Wishes for a safe recovery ......

pleased to see he's not yet pushing up the Daisies. Big 'Thank You' to Jim from me, I followed a link to Jim's own page (hadn't previously realised the site existed) while looking for info on my BE-3 Gearbox.
