Hi guys looking for some advice please.
Got in the van Sunday morning to find the van wouldn’t start and a few electrical issues
I did notice the passenger side floor carpet is quite wet, aswell as the lining on the roof where the aerial is ( I presume it is water causing an issue as the van was fine the day before )
Anyway, van turns over fine but will not fire, wipers do not work, indicators only work when sidelights or headlights are switched on, after 30 seconds or so of having the ignition on, all dash lights go out except the battery.
I have checked battery voltage which is approx 12.6v
I have had the bsi unit out, dry as a bone and can’t see any obvious issues
I’ve done a bsi reset, still the same
Fuse box under bonnet dry as a bone
Can anybody point me in the right direction to what may be causing the issues I’ve mentioned above ? And maybe basic checks I could do myself ? I’m an electrician by trade so have a multimeter to hand etc...
I have a basic obd2 scanner that I’m borrowing tomorrow but not sure if that will be of any use
The van is a 2007 1.6 hdi
Thanks very much for any help
Matt

Re: Berlingo van won’t start - electrica issues
Hi, and to the forum. It does sound that water has got into the electronics somewhere. It would help if you were to post the vehicle VIN here, so that a Moderator can look her up and see exactly what she had when she rolled out of the factory. For security reasons the VIN will be obscured so only Forum staff can read it.
