Spotted at lunch time today, a glossy black Tesla Model S and a Glossy graphite (?) Tesla Model X..... in the ground floor of Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow.
Not where you would usually expect to find cars... seemed to be a drawing a lot of attention in the time I stayed to watch. Every man, and some women, were staring at them as they rode the escalator down past them and a lot of people were milling around, opening and closing the boot, trying the door handles, getting in and out etc... probably nearly all tyre kickers given the sticker price of the cars but it certainly raises awareness of EV's more than having one sitting at the back of a car lot that the dealer isn't interested in promoting!
I'm not normally a fan of black cars but I have to say the glossy, shiny black did actually suit it in person, pictures don't do the black justice. The graphite was nice too - similar to the Silex grey of my Xantia.

Pretty sure I saw a Kia Soul EV this morning - the grill was a solid sheet, which rather gives it away! I saw an Ioniq the other weekend, but pretty sure that wasn't an EV, as it had a 'proper' grille, which again the EV doesn't.

Came across this very nice picture of the New Leaf. A very familiar location to POTD followers, and a 24mph speed limit on the access road

Yes not in real life of course but there's a bit of a LEJoG/JoGLE theme going on and I came across this

Re: Electric Vehicles: What have you spotted?
Spotted a TESLA model S driving out of Morpeth. Before I say “it was brown” I had better be a bit more precise about the colour....off to the colour charts....back with something more accurate in a minute
Regards Neil
I think it must have been “Warm Silver”

Aside from Tesla and the Chevy Bolt which you'll never see in the UK, it's probably the fastest BEV on UK roads at the moment in its pure BEV version.
130kW motor and weighing only 1200Kg or so, it will do 0-62 in 7.3 seconds compared to the very mundane 0-60 of about 12 seconds for my Ion. There is an i3s (sport) version that was released a year or so ago that has bumped the power up a bit further and has slightly wider tyres (then the original very skinny ones!) and is sub 7 seconds. They're all RWD too, with the motor under the boot like my Ion!
Nice car in many ways and tempting, but very expensive for what it is, quite quirky, very expensive to repair (carbon fibre chassis, loads of bespoke components that aren't used in any other model) and reportedly somewhat unreliable compared to some more mundane EV's like a Leaf - a few owners have been stung with major repair bills out of warranty, which puts me off ever owning one!
On PCP with a warranty probably a fun car to own as a second car I'd say, but I'm not a PCP person. Second hand out of warranty a scary proposition I think.

A Leaf, a Zoe and a VW somethingorother. Looked smaller than a golf (following me. Saw the blue badge on the front).
