Now thats me educated again..YMO? Yellow Magic Orchestra I discover. No idea what their best tracks are but I did notice an interesting link to a colaboration with The Human League which I may start with!

Why not ? Although a stop at the intermediate station makrked Sylvian / Sakamoto might be beneficial


I think this is one of those occasions you discover a hugely pioneering band that you've never heard of. Incredibly innovative in electronic music, many muso's regard as second only to Kraftwerk in influence.
Not sure of their 'best tracks', but their first releases - Firecracker, Yellow Magic, and Computer Game bring back the best memories for me

EDit just have to put in your suggested interim stop. If you enjoy David Sylvian's voice which I do its an absolute treat!

Well November the 5th coming up, the only logical choice has to be Firecracker..

They even made it onto the iconic "Soul Train"

I think the P.E's piano might need a tune up and oil change before Mr Swanson gets his fingers on it. It's a long time since it's been played with such vim and vigour and I'm not sure it'll be up to it in its current state
