All the cars in that Jensen shot were yellow . . . What kind of gathering was that? AA Senior Staff car park?
Love the P5B coupe. My favourite colour for those was Burgundy, although there was a Teal Blue that looked pretty lush, if a bit flash.
Never managed the V8 with the P5 - my 1960 was a Mark I 3-liitre manual w/overdrive in (sorry, Jim) City Grey. Mine for £45 though, in 1968. Perfect student transport.
On the way back from the NC500, I'm hoping to get to the Padgate College car park where she spent lots of her days. It was 50 years ago in September that I started my degree course there*. Still can't quite believe that.
* Not actually in the car park, although in a way yes...

So you'd choose that over the Rover 3.5 P5B Coupe with its own AABox
Now that's a difficult one Can I have both?
I love the P5B almost as much as I love the P6..
Maybe we could respray the P5B yellow?

Well, as you like yellow cars Jim;

Failing that one, how about the off road version (with added oomph)?;

That Robin has a 2CV counterpart somewhere, albeit not a 1/2-track.
As for the F&H's Supervan, reminds me I once agreed to deliver one to Zagreb (think it might've taken a bit longer than the 18 hrs I used to reckon in the 3.6 XJ40) but never managed to find one at the right price.

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
Spotted a lovely white 1972 Vauxhall Firenza (the sportier fast-back version of the HC Viva) today whilst out on a bike ride...
Its exhaust stank a bit so I'm guessing it had the 2300cc slant four under the bonnet as it sounded quite nice and definitely much nicer than the horrid old Viva 1256cc engine ever did... Some low-rent Firenzas did have the 1256cc engine - all looks and no go!
For those who know the area, it was between Nash and Thornton - not far from Buckingham...

Pity that, yes worth 50 points any day of the week for an unusual spot, but 99 had it been yellow with a black vinyl roof

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
Bloke in the next village has got this in his garage:
He's also got something else, probably of similar vintage I've seen him working on. He must be a Citroen man as he has a Berlingo and a new shape C4 as well. Must stop sometime when he's out and have a chat!

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
I spent an awful lot of time fixing those up in my youth Richard, a very popular car and one of the first to have hydraulic brakes (Lockheed).
My first day in the garage the boss pointed to one and said, "So you want to be a mechanic, take the gearbox out of that."

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
A small selection from over at the Brill Festival yesterday. Was a lot bigger show than I was expecting, must have been going on a couple of hundred cars there.
It was a virtually cloudless sky which made getting decent photographs quite hard due to the depth of the shadows...Don't think my phone handled it too badly all things considered though.
Starting out with a nice yellow pair - albeit in different colours of yellow. Pretty sure the one to the left is Snapdragon yellow as per my much missed MiniMetro HLE.
Next up...Well, this doesn't really need a description does it beyond "beautiful" does it?
Next up, a lovely little Alfa Giullia (not sure if that's spelled right). Not a model I'd seen in person before. Reminds me a lot of a Saab Sonett actually.
Finally couldn't resist throwing this in there just because I'm sure that nobody 20 years ago thought they'd see the day that these models would all be rubbing shoulders at a show!
There was a really varied selection there. Not limited but including several pre-war cars I sadly forgot to photograph - including a very exciting looking supercharged Riley, a fair variety of American metal, along with the usual sort of selection. Also of note was a Rover Metro Cabriolet which I never even realised existed until yesterday.

Re: Classic car Spring/Summer Collection-2017
Couple of spots today on a Trip out to Thirsk.
A red Rover 2200 in near the market place.
Love seeing them and this one was very much well used as opposed to concours.
Next a pale yellow open top Austin Seven, looking very vintage.
Poked the camera in and around it for upload later.
Then a TVR Chimaera on the A 19 on the way home.....get the number plate and you've got the car!
Regards Neil

The Austin Seven in Thirsk
Would I have the first idea how to start it....probably not although starting handle was in situ at the front.

Daughter lives fairly close by.
