Suspension Bushes, Febi or First Line

Post by Pug_XUD_KeenAmateur »

anyone got any thoughts on Febi / First Line / other make suspension bushes?

Am a little miffed that the rear bush on one of my front wishbones has play in it, having only replaced it in the last 2years (25,000miles). The front & rear bushes on both wishbones were done at much the same time: a time costly errror that was... not doing the lot all at once.

Thanks :)

Febi would be my preference.
First line just seem to buy whatever they can get that is cheapest, the last first line part I had was branded Daewoo.
None seem that good anymore but I fit Febi myself having found nothing better for the last few years.

Front bushes last a lot longer (assuming you have a Xantia) and don't need doing every time.
Rear bushes are basically disposable and as far as I'm concerned should be done every time the front brake pads are done or they often need doing shortly afterwards.

405 Estate I'm guessing... If you want to spend a bit more money on polyurethane bushes they ought to last a bit better (but only if you get ones with stainless tubes, plated ones corrode and wear the bush out anyway) and there's compounds similar to original now too so oughtn't be any noisier.
