Just e-mailed Paul Saville to say I won't be renewing my membership, not because I didn't want to - but, simply, because they make it too difficult, certainly if, like me, you didn't receive a renewal letter.

Do they don't they? Big dilemma. The big dilemma for me is do I don't I join in the first place? Until I do, if I do then I cannot criticize or praise. So I suppose I either join or shut up.

I see no reason not to express why you would not wish to join........or why you decide to join. Feedback taken is always positive, feedback ignored is telling, that is up to the members/officers of said club.
I would say however I will be renewing mine despite the views I am at present expressing on the CCC FB/Fourms.

I can't say whether a renewal letter was sent, only that I didn't receive one - &, it was apparent they weren't prepared to send a duplicate. THAT is why renewing my membership, after various attempts, became more trouble than it was worth.
Most clubs go out of their way to keep on board those who's membership is about to lapse, not CCC though - just a rather curt e-mail saying I'd had my last magazine because I hadn't renewed. Ideal opportunity, I would have thought, to attach duplicate letter in case it was an oversight, the original hadn't been received/had been lost or even to give a second chance to those who might've thrown theirs away in a fit of pique - but, of course, that's not CCC's style it seems!
I suppose one day, hopefully not too late, it'll realise that it needs members more than members need it.

Not the CCC though, all I got was an e-mail "Oh-oh. I've been unable to send you the latest Citroenian!
If you'd like me to get one in the post to you, you'll have to renew pretty soon . . . " & went on to detail how I could do it; unfortunately they either weren't convenient or, worse, didn't work & the best was, to download a form to save writing a covering letter with your cheque or card details, you have to register with a 3rd party!
Shame, I quite liked the magazine!

I have gained more info from one post from each of the moderators on this site (let alone the members) than ANY page in the CCC Mag....unless you want to know where someone has stayed in the Alps in their expensive car....or what street is called ###.A.Citroen in Paris. Nice maybe but in truth utterly pointless and limited in content/format in this day and age.

Think that might've stopped 'cos my membership expired in April - & I didn't get this month's mag.
I take on board what Sticky says BUT I don't expect technical assistance (or even how to find the venue of a major club meeting) in the magazine, but it's a pleasant diversion with a cup of coffee one evening a month

My view on CCC is that whilst it is far from perfect it does at least still exist. If anyone genuinely wants change then the best way to achieve it is activly within the club rather than simply to leave. There is a massive pool of potential younger members but they will only join if their interests are catered for and the vicious circle is such that unless some join they appear unlikely to be catered for.
It must be remembered that CCC is run by its members for its members and that changes will only happen if some members put in a conscious effort to make them. I think it would be a shame to lose the club, but without change it will inevitably die as those prepared to put effort in to it get older.
