Contrary to my earlier message, I have now restored the database as it was late yesterday evening. I think that I have corrected a minor configuration error, and this means that all postings and PMs from yesterday have been restored, but any this morning (there were not many) have been lost.
If you have trouble logging in, please delete your browser cookies. If you are still having problems, try using your browsers "incognito" or "private" mode (this will ignore any stale cookies).
I will re-enable the various boad extensions and customisations later today, if all seems to be stable.

Re: Forum outage 9/6/2016 - 10/6/2016
This is quite weird - feeling as I'm going backwards and forwards in a time warp! Old posts gone, re-doing the posts and sending new messages out, now these have gone and we're now back to where we were with old posts back - time for an episode of 'The Time Tunnel'!
Glad all is back up now

Re: Forum outage 9/6/2016 - 10/6/2016
I had to erase all cookies on all my browsers to be able to log in. A bit inconvenient as now I have tons of other websites I need to log back into, but oh well...
Might pay to put a prominent banner on the forum advising users having trouble logging into to delete their cookies, otherwise unless they go trawling for information in this thread they won't know why they can't log in...
FYI I'm seeing a debug error at the top of the page though: "[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file [ROOT]/mobiquo/smartbanner/head.inc.php on line 121: Undefined variable: app_icon_url"

With most browsers, if you go into debug mode, you can selectively delete cookies.
I will diasable warning messages soon. That one is in the commercially produced Tapatalk code. So much for quality control...

Not on most mobile browsers you can't unfortunately. And that's a bit too high tech for some of the forum users no doubt.

Re: Forum outage 9/6/2016 - 10/6/2016
If you use CC Cleaner (freeware, works fine for me for years on Win various - now 8.1 - and Max OSX) you can use options to select 'cookies to keep' for the ones I want including this forum. It cleans the rest in something between 5 and 10 seconds, and will clean the cache, remove recent file lists and the such if you set it to. I run it most days and every time I have been using internet banking or similar.
So to sort out this login, I moved it out of the keep column, ran the cleaner, all is well. Will put it back in the keep column shortly.
It does try to persuade you to buy the paid for version every time it updates, but as long as you always choose download free version (not free trial) you have an excellent tool.

I use carbon copy cloner for backups, it's simple and reliable.

I have just made an additional configuration change to the site cookie ID which should help any users who are still having problems logging in.
