No, it isn't the end of the engine. It will probably have broken some rockers so the head will need to come off. This means removing the injectors which is the tricky part.
There are people who specialise in this. I have no connection with this guy but I have never come across a bad review of his work. His web site is useful reading for you anyway.

These may be the rocker arms you need (you will need to check that they are right for your C8).

I think you may be confusing the 2.0HDI engine with the 2.2HDI

Nope. The OP said it was a 2.0 (Although I haven't looked up the ebr code)

If its a 2.0. 8 valve I don't think you need to remove the head to change the rockers.

The C8 was never fitted with the 8 valve engine.

Thinking about it, I'm not sure why/if the head does need to come off so I may be wrong on that point. I do know that the injectors have to come out though. Is it just to get the rocker cover off then?

Our 807 came with an invoice for over £4000 which the previous owners had paid a main dealer for a new engine after the dealer couldn't get the injectors out following a cambelt failure. I presume they scrapped the engine in the process of trying.

Sorry to dig up an old topic (which wasn't even mine in the first place). Why do the injectors have to come out to get to the rockers? (on a 2.0 HDi 16v) I still haven't been able to find the answer.
