Many Gallic returns!

Many Gallic returns!

Post by ex-vaux »

Been a while, but I have finally returned to the realm of french automobiles! Wife has just aquired a 406 2.0 petrol estate and I am soon to be the latest owner of a very nice low-ish, mileage Xantia TD! French cars to me, have been both a frustrating feisty mistress and a dowdy trusty friend. Not usually at the same time! CX, BX, XM to expose a few! Hope the reunion is amicable and long standing this time round! Look forward to exploring the inner workings of them with you in due course. Ian

Welcome Ian :D

sometimes I wish my TD was more feisty  but would not do without it

Unfortunately, its vehicle related rather than grain related! On the whole not a bad experience, but time to move on. Surprising how much a scrap corsa fetches these days!

See what I can find. CX was mid eighties as was a CV! Had a BX 4x4 for a while, 1.7 & 1.9. XM estate which was particularly frustrating and satisfying all at the same time! Couple of AX's used by my daughter's 1.1 and a 1.5 diesel that seemed to run on the whiff of an oily rag! 106, 206, 306 507 monster estate that had 300,000 on it before it finally died! Dear oh dear, this is a bit of a trip down memory lane!! Always been impressed with Citroen/peugeot engines and gearboxes! The boxes they put them in are a different matter..........
