Yep, I've got an N reg Estate, there's an N reg saloon down the road from me, but I've only seen P reg estates, not saloons.
As mentioned, manufacturers used to / still do introduce estate models of cars some time after the other models - look at the 306, I believe it was the hatch first, then wasn't there a delay before they launched the saloons and estates ?

One thing that I find since owning an estate, is that I see far many more estate model 405's than saloons ( I don't see any hatchbacks ), obviously the run of the estates was carried on until the 406 was established, but the "old" 405's just seem to be vanishing off our streets.
I also don't see as many 306's as I used to either.

No, the youngest BX's are K/L plate. They didn't bring out the Xantia estate until a few years after the saloon. Citroen said we didn't need one and should choose between the XM and ZX estates. Funny what a good seller it was then.fastandfurryous wrote:Sure you don't mean BX?np wrote:Same as the Xantia really then. The oldest saloon being on a K reg,the oldest estate on an N reg

My mistake... I read that as "latest" rather than "youngest"Homer wrote:No, the youngest BX's are K/L plate. They didn't bring out the Xantia estate until a few years after the saloon. But it's interesting to note that the Last BX estates were on "M" (and the odd one or two on "N") just as the Xantia estate started.

Hi
The best 405s to go for are the June 1995 onwards built cars, Better sunroof set up ( if fitted, make sure it has A/C too ) & better ABS system ( again if fitted, GTX & Exec standard ) Both borrowed from the 306.
Also the petrol keypad immobiliser gained Thatcham Cat 2 staus & is still today insurance approved.

Er, why, Lee? They are unneccessary in this country, not the most reliable component, and you cannot fix them if they go wrong.PowerLee wrote:Hi
