Well it's been a horrible week but things are getting better.
As my car wasn't working properly, a friend who's on holiday lent me his Ni**an Primera, but on driving it to my house the ignition light came on. Pat he said use it but look , it's got a problem. To cut a long story short, I took old alternator off , got a new one put it on and it didn't work. Not charging!! This rounded off my week of new things not working.

BUT!!!The good thing is is that as I didn't have time to order the new H.P. pump my Activa has slowly ,but surely got better.
What do you mean got better?
Well, at the last post, it would hardly go up ,the STOP LIGHT would only go out revving it to 2000 revs, then when it idled would come on again.
But I kept on driving it locally and very cautiously, and each day it took less to go up in the morning, the STOP LIGHT flickered less, until today it went up from cold in 24 secs (a record) and the light stayed out all the time.
Ride is fine as are brakes and steering,
So it appears afterall that the H.P. pump, which was changed ,is in fact allright as it is now behaving normally.
It was just like someone being ill and slowly getting better.
Has anyone ever heard of a story of a car getting better?
I thought they broke and that's it.
These Cits never cease to amaze me!!
Cheers all Pat Neenan.
P.S. Would it have been air in the system ,which, with driving ,has been expelled?

Pat
I'd give it a good dose of Hydraulicage to rinse it out. The fact that it rose better if parked on a slope could mean something's sticking or getting blocked.
Let us know how you get on in the next few weeks

Took car to Friendly Cit dealer in the Midlands (Where I'm from)and the head mechanic came out and had a good look at the car.
He said in 14 years of Cits had only seen 2 Xant pumps fail. After some deliberation the conclusion was the problem is the pressure regulator and the acc sphere as he said it didn't tick at all.
So the pump is o.k. so am i £500 richer , but this lot will cost me about 280 quid. so all in all not as expensive as thought.
Just as well i waited before buying new pump!!!!!
P.S. the improvement was shortlived. yesterday it started playing up again so that's why i took it to the Cit garage.
P.P.S. The mechanic didn't charge me a penny for his 15 mins of looking. Down here in London they charge you to even look at them!!
