Last night the last in the current series of 5th gear had a retro feel about it, featuring an Astra GTE, RS Turbo and the one that is more relevant for us a clip of a DS!

CX seen on From A To B: Tales Of Modern Motoring on BBC4 a programme about company car drivers when the company car driver pulled into a car park in his Maestro, yes it was an old programme, on the other night (11-03-09 @ 23.50hrs) filmed in the late 80's I think.

He really did not like his Maestro, it was a 1.3 diesel Clubman, he had a Cavalier 2.0 petrol before, and wanted it back, but he would have been better off with the C.X.

I have all the Taxi films and can vouch that they are reat films...not just because they are full of cars.....they are good movies too

French cars...sorry, didn't have chance to look for them in that clip 8)

Watching TV the other night, I watched this advert and spotted a red Xantia. I did get excited until I saw the actual focus of the commercial

A Citroen Maserati can be seen in this programme The Car Show.

It also features Wheelbase, Driven, Fifth Gear, Top Gear etc the presenters on the various programmes, how they developed, the history of the programmes, and how cars are, and were advertised, take a look it's an interesting programme. 8)

The link is for the iplayer, although it might also get repeated on BBC4.

Looks like Wheelbase was the Men & Motors of its day!

It's quite a realistic thought provoking information film which gets its point across clearly.

The Xantia is in frame all too briefly, well done for spotting that, I had wondered if I had seen one on there recently.

The film reminds me of a previous campaign.

The strap line was..............

While surfing the T.V.

channels, I.E. channel hopping with the remote last night, I spotted on The Diana Years, a Renault 5, with an index number that in later years ended up having a connection,

to what I am typing this post on.

The registration was USB 834T which was on the Renault 5 that the princess to be, was getting into while having her picture(s) taken due to the then breaking news regarding Diana and Prince Charles.

Take a look at this Mad Max style Robo Dog which is powered by a Dersh engine!

Apparently the clip was filmed in Italy, pity the weather was not all that good, but look at the space the guy has got to work and play in. 8)
