:rofl2: Unless I'm much mistaken the English won at Flodden While the Scots were victorious at Otterburn!! So how about we call it a draw and order some desserts and more beer, my round what are we having? As a homage to the pool I'll put on this track by Mike Massey, one of the great pool players:

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Not the answer on the card, but a correct fact which I accept as an answer. The actual answer I was after is probably a bit too tricky but we have set a precedent for it. However as time is getting on I'll put up the screenshot that gave me the question as a definite clue if you want it:

Bob just passed me the map for tomorrow's route which is only 25 miles so time to divert to Flodden if you want to. Only limitation is we have to catch the 19.20 from Berwick in order to get home tomorrow night!! :-D

Yes I think a diversion up to Branxton/Flodden will be good. I have photographed it on our first ever visit last year. Drank it all in. Quite sobering even though it all happened such a long time ago. I dig the archives up for a few pics when we cycle there on our Day 8!

and the darts number theme has just occurred on the thread mick your post was post number 501 (reply 500) and this is reply 501!

So are you saying I got 501 one shot before you did and hence won the game? :-D :-D

I think it is unlikely that any previous thread has made 500+ posts in such a short time and still been so interesting!!

..and thanks for the screenshot....that would have taken some random lateral thinking to get. (Jackson 5 Question)

So what do we follow our nostalgic desserts with? Thats the great thing about the virtual menu. Imagine giving our orders for Tapioca with Carnation and Peaches with Carnation for a derert in a pub in wooler in real life :-D

I'm going to ditch Pumphreys and have some Pilgrims, roasted at Pilgrims Coffee House and roastery on Holy Island. and I'm going to get a bottle of Lindifarne Mead also made on Holy Island.
So its a Cafetiere ofImage

And a bottle of this and four glasses

As we are going nostalgic on the coffee, both Bob and I used to love Camp coffee which was all our Mums could afford after the war, so we'll have camp floaters laced with Kahlua for me and Galliano for Bob and topped with "squirty cream" with a thin slice of lime in the cream!!

Jimmy says its time to get down to a serious drink and would like a 007 Vodka Martini (Known as a Vesper to those of us who follow Bond).

And for the jukebox a little reminder of our host establishment tonight:

Lovely stuff Mick Anchors Aweigh is an excellent addition to any jukebox!

I see tomorrow the route takes us through Ford and Etal and further on to the Chain Bridge (excellent stop off place Chainbridge Honey farm, tea and cakes in a bus, lorry and machinery scrayard and excellent memoribilia collection/domestic/military motoring etc) over the river Tweed where at that point we will cross the border into Scotland for a brief period. Its a bit of an odd bod the Border...you would think that it would be the Tweed River right to the river mouth, but were it to be like that. most of Berwick upon Tweed would be in Scotland. The train bridge is known as the Border Bridge but isn't the current border. That is an anonymous sort of affair with a few flags and a burger van at the side of the A1, lets say north of Morrisons and McDonalds.

There is a bit of a myth that Berwick-Upon-Tweed is technically still at war with Russia, because it was specified in the declaration of war, but not in the ending of hostilities. It has always been a bit of an oddity.

I think once we have drained the mead and drank my coffee I will bid you goodnight. I will get reception to have a Horlicks or Ovaltine brought up to my room. I think Anchors Aweigh was a fitting track to wrap up a good day and excellent company. Night all!

Regards Neil

Following that theme I was linked to this which I find quite pleasant, never heard it before:
