We've got to have the Video James.

Being a big Bob Ross fan I was very excited when I read this line
"The clip - entitled Create Escape - shows the piece being created under the cover of darkness, set to archive commentary from American painter Bob Ross."
Is on the PE Video Show here...

I worked with a bloke that was on one of the boats - not the Compass Rose.
A delightful raconteur.

The Compass Rose was fictional, but Monsarrat but did serve Aug 1940 – Dec 1941 as 1st Lt on HMS Campanula (Flower-class corvette).myglaren wrote: 05 Mar 2021, 22:09 I worked with a bloke that was on one of the boats - not the Compass Rose.

Regards NeilThe Cruel Sea (1953) Trivia.
When the film was made in 1952, no Flower Class corvettes remained in Royal Navy service. The ship used was therefore the Greek corvette Kriezis, ex-HMS Coreopsis. She was given the number K49 in the film which was the number of HMS Crocus (sometimes wrongly thought to have been used in the film).
